Greek

 

Greek was Mark-Anthony Turnage’s retelling of the Oedipus myth. Based on the original play by Stephen Berkoff, Greek was premiered in collaboration with the Edinburgh International Festival in August 2017. The production was presented with further critical acclaim at The Theatre Royal, Glasgow (February 2018) and for four performances at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (December 2018).

The creative team included the exciting young director Joe Hill-Gibbins, designer Johannes Schütz and the critically lauded Scottish Opera Music director, Stuart Stratford.

The Opera Ventures and Scottish Opera co-production of Greek, presented at the Edinburgh International Festival 5 and 6 August 2017, was made possible by generous support from:
